The Big Don Band The Big Don Band was formed in the Athens area in early 2007 with Don Spurlin on guitar and vocals, Brian Daniel on bass, and Duane Poole on drums. For the next year, the band performed regularly, including an opening spot for Phil Vassar. The band also released it's first album, 'Goodbye Mr. Hyde'. In March 2008, the band took a hiatus, as members pursued other projects. By July 2008, the band had reformed with a new line up: Don Spurlin on guitar and vocals, Brian Daniel on bass, Jeff Hargens on drums, and Jason Crowe on keyboards. Since reforming, the band has gained enormous momentum, has cut a new demo, and looks to record another full length album in 2009. Each member of the band has over 10 years experience performing music and have worked with bands such as: Fester Hagood, King Cotton, Risin' Creek Band, Tangents, and Thomas Tillman.
